Prep

In order to get the tan lasting as long as possible I recommend taking the right steps to prepare your skin!

  1. Exfoliate and moisturise- In the days leading up to your tan make sure you exfoliate every day and moisturise! The day of the tan do not moisturise or exfoliate. Use a moisturiser free shower gel as this can act as a barrier

  2. Hair Removal- If you need to shave or wax do so at least 24 hours before and ensure any wax residue has been washed of the skin

  3. Pre-Tan Cleanse- Just before the tanning session ensue all make-up, deodorant, perfume and moisturiser has been removed these products can interfere with the development of the tan

  4. Hair and Clothing- Tie up any long hair away from neck and shoulders. Ladies, you are more than welcome to go fully naked- Men underwear is required. If you are wishing to cover up I advise old underwear or bikinis in case of staining, you can go topless if you want more of a seamless tan

  5. Nails and Beauty Treatments - If you’re planning to have your nails, eyelashes, or eyebrows done on the same day as your tan, it’s best to schedule these treatments before your tanning session. While it’s not ideal to combine these appointments, sometimes it can’t be avoided. If you’re concerned about the tan solution staining your nail polish, especially light colors, I always carry Vaseline and can apply a thin layer to your nails to create a protective barrier

Aftercare

Aftercare is just as important as prep. Follow these steps to ensure your tan lasts as long as possible.

  1. Wait at least 8 hours to shower or take a bath- the longer the better

  2. Do not swim or exercise for 24 hours

  3. Wear loose fitting clothes after the tan and try to make minimal contact, these can lead to patchy un even tan as it develops

  4. Pat yourself dry do not rub after washing

  5. Moisturise regularly with an oil-free base- oil breaks down the tan and can cause it to fade quicker or become patchy
